Ah, the tale of Doctor Foster, famous and bold,
His journey to Gloucester is one oft retold.
But if he’d had luxury water-resistant fabrics that day,
His soggy misadventure might’ve gone quite a different way!
Doctor Foster went to Gloucester,
With thoughts of rain, oh what a disaster!
He donned his coat, all snug and tight,
In luxury water resistant fabrics, what a sight!
“Water-resistant! What a boon!”
He smiled at the clouds, “I’ll be home by noon!”
But as he strolled through the market square,
The skies unleashed a drenching affair.
His coat kept dry, but oh what a sight,
The puddles splashed high, much to his fright!
“Is that a fish?” he cried in surprise,
As it flopped by his well-polished ties.
“Next time I’ll take an umbrella,” he thought,
But his luxury fabrics had him all caught.
He slipped, and he slid, a right merry dance,
A wet Welshman’s jig, he took a wild chance!
